David was born on March 7, 1969. At 42 years olds, David continues to have a passion for water polo. Growing up in a family of swimmers, David was the first to play waterpolo and has always worked towards being the best player he can be. David graduated from Mission Viejo High School where his accomplishments include Honorable Mention in 1986,1st Team in 1987 as well being named an All-American. From Mission Viejo, his water polo career continued at Saddleback College. Earning Offensive Player of the Year in 1988, David also scored most goals in one season in 1988. David loves the physicality of water polo and believes that hard work translates into being the best all around player. 20 years have passed and the idea of forming this national team seemed to only be a dream. The dream has had many challenges along the way. And now, the dream has become a reality. David enjoys seeing the players continue to develop each day and foresees a bright future for this Ecuadorian team. And, what makes this team extra special is the fact that he gets to play with his son, Hayden Delgado.
